LYNN VAN HOYDONCK: “She Isn’t Other People’s Creation”

For this work ’She Ins’t Other People’s Creation’ Lynn Van Hoydonck main focus lies on the materiality of plastic in combination with the softness of the body. Being stuck in one emotion and not letting go of it. The moulds try to materialize different emotions in the form of clothes. The capitalist view on authentic emotions is questioned.

Lynn Van Hoydonck is an interdisciplinary artist and costume designer. She has a background in flmmaking and fashion which she both studied at KASK Ghent. She graduated in 2024 with a Master in Costume Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Currently she is active as a costume designer and visual artist.

She designed the costumes for ‘MadDoG’ from Lydia McGlinchey which premiered in November 2024 at Kaaitheater. In 2025 she participated at the ZIJSpoor expo at Antwerp art weekend. Currently she is designing costumes at NTGent for a new theatre piece from Ferenc Balcaen premiering in oktober 2026.
